Pivotal Developers Discuss Microservices and IoT at QCon

QCon New YorkQCon is a convention for professional software developers, offering direct and frank discussions on new technologies and common challenges. Taking place June 10-12 at the New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge, QCon New York features presentations and talks on timely topics such as microservices, mobile development, and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies. Pivotal’s Josh Long and Farhan Thawar will join the discussion, leading a presentation and day-long track at the event.

Presentation: Microservices Made Easy with Spring Cloud and Netflix OSS

Pivotal’s Spring Developer Advocate, Josh Long, delivers a presentation on how the “emergent patterns” of cloud-first architectures influence the development and deployment of microservices. He will examine common patterns within distributed systems, and look at how boilerplate approaches and off-the-shelf tools such as Spring Cloud and Netflix OSS can simplify development.

Track: Mobile and IoT at Scale
Friday, June 12 – 9:00am-3:30pm
Location: Salon F

Farhan Thawar, Vice President of Engineering at Pivotal Labs, hosts this day-long track focused on developing mobile and Internet of Things-connected apps at scale. The sessions will discuss how to design and build effective mobile and IoT applications. The track will include talks about building distributed mobile apps at Etsy, the IOT platform as a service, results-driven development, the next level of responsive design, and mobile-first architectures.
