We caught up with Floris van den Dool, Managing Director for Information Security Services across Europe, Africa and Latin America for Accenture at the RSA Archer EMEA GRC Summit in London in November to get his take on what’s happening in the security industry. Van den Dool explained that traditional ways of security are no longer good enough; organizations need more intelligence-driven security to see what is happening in their environments, understand the associated business risk, and apply counter-measures. An effective security program is no longer compliance driven – it now needs to be risk driven. Perhaps the biggest challenge organizations face, however, is on the people side – getting employees with the right capabilities and also getting the organization to embrace the transformation in security.
