We now know that Cloud is no longer hype but a reality and almost all organizations have begun the transition to some form of the Cloud – whether it be embracing the public Cloud or implementing a private Cloud model and starting to move key workloads out of legacy environments. The ultimate goal that IT departments seek is to transform to IT as a Service (ITaaS). Line of business owners are no longer satisfied with the old, lethargic and change resistant IT models of the past and demand a more consumer-like experience for their IT needs. Commissioned by EMC and VMWare, the IDG Research Services Dual Perspectives on ITaaS survey reveals this important statistic representing the perception alignment between IT and business unit executives about the value of converting to an IT as a Service model. EMC presents this infographic to help articulate a general forward-moving trend in the IT landscape- ITaaS, and how to create ITaaS end-value consensus. After all, there is only a 5% difference in the measured results between IT’s 68% and the business’ 63% favoring a rapid transition to ITaaS – a figure that should ultimately be enticing enough for organizational leaders to turn in a new direction.
